MESSAGE FROM THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL

Assalamualaikum wbt, Best Wishes and Greetings 1 Malaysia,

2013 is a very important year for the National Housing Department (NHD). Various government initiatives will be initiated by the NHD to meet the aspirations of the people in providing comfortable, affordable and quality housing to all segments of society in Malaysia. This task is certainly not an easy task, but I am confident that with the commitment shown by the leadership of the Ministry of Housing and Local Government (MHLG) and accompanied with hard work from the staff at the NHD, the desire to meet the aspirations of the people can be successfully met.

In 2013, the NHD will focus on projects that will bring high impact on the well being of the people, through the construction of more houses under the People's Housing Programme (PPR), Rehabilitation of Abandoned Housing Projects, Housing Maintenance Program (PPP) and will continue to protect the rights of house buyers through the Housing Act and its existing regulations. I am confident that NHD’s performance in 2013 will be better than in 2012 if all of NHD’s staff  strengthen their efforts and confidence to continue to meet the aspirations of the people in owning a house that is comfortable, of quality and affordable.

 In addition, the NHD has also taken the initiative to integrate the BLESS and IDAMAN II in the NHD website to facilitate housing developers. I hope that this exercise will enhance the quality of service provided by NHD to its customers and thus make NHD as a key reference point for the housing industry in Malaysia.
